At Freedom Church Cairns, we believe the next generation isn’t “the church of tomorrow”—they’re part of the church right now. Our Youth Group exists to raise young people who know the Word of God, walk in real faith, and stand strong in a world that constantly pushes them in the opposite direction. We don’t entertain them into the kingdom—we disciple them, challenge them, and help them build a faith that lasts.
Teenagers today face more pressure, confusion, and temptation than ever before. That’s why our youth ministry gives them something solid: truth, identity, and a place where they can grow with confidence. Every gathering includes clear Bible teaching, worship, prayer, and honest conversations about real issues young people face—purpose, friendships, peer pressure, purity, calling, and how to live boldly for Christ in everyday life.
We make the environment fun, but we don’t water anything down. Young people rise when they’re challenged, and our leaders push them to grow, take ownership of their walk with God, and make decisions that set them up for a strong future. We create a culture where teens feel welcome, supported, and encouraged—but also guided with firm biblical conviction.
Relationships matter too. Our Youth Group is a place where young people build healthy friendships, find godly mentors, and discover that following Jesus isn’t boring—it’s powerful, purposeful, and life-changing. We regularly run youth nights, outreach events, worship nights, and practical ministry opportunities that allow them to step out in faith and learn by doing.
Many of our future leaders, pastors, and church planters begin their journey right here. We invest intentionally in our youth because we know God has called them to impact Cairns and far beyond.
