Isaacs Story how Jesus changed his life

Childhood

I was born into an upper-middle-class family in New Zealand. When I was five, my parents divorced, and ten years later, we moved to Australia. The transition was overwhelming, leaving me struggling with rebellion and depression. Within a year of relocating, I attempted suicide by cutting my wrists.

Teenage Years

I was consumed by anger, feeling lost and without direction. I left school to pursue my dream of becoming a businessman but ended up working in a music shop. There, I encountered two Christians who shared their faith with me, questioning the nominal beliefs I held as a Catholic. Their genuine love intrigued me, despite my attempts to get them fired for their evangelism. I’m grateful they persisted...

At 17, I accepted salvation during a Wednesday night service. However, pressure from my parents and girlfriend led to a year-long backslide, during which my life grew darker. Everything I valued more than God—my idols—was removed: my job, my relationship. At rock bottom, I recalled the sense of being alive I felt upon first finding faith.

Divine Encounter

Nearly a year later, I happened to walk near the music shop where the Christians worked. Feeling compelled, almost as if pushed by someone behind me, I entered, and one of them invited me to church that night. Though I was late and missed meeting him for the service, I cried out to God for guidance. Miraculously, without directions, I found the church across town with no GPs or road map.

A Changed Life

Within a week of recommitting my life to Jesus, I faced the decision to move out at 18 with no experience. Choosing to live for Jesus over seeking my family's approval marked a pivotal point in my life, more than 25 years ago. Despite leaving with little more than my clothes, saxophone, car, and stereo, God provided miraculously. I received essentials like a bed from church members and even found a place to stay with one of the Christians I once tried to see fired. Their forgiveness and generosity blew me away.  I was instantly delivered of my  stutter and now I preach. I was healed of asthma and 4 different food allergies. I was set free from  anger, lust, lying and laziness - Jesus gave me a whole new character and a fresh …start to life.

Living for Jesus

I've accumulated countless joyful memories—building friendships, witnessing miracles, and experiencing personal breakthroughs. Although I've made mistakes, leading to divorce and bankruptcy, my faith has remained steadfast. It surprises my non-Christian family, who note my resilience and persistence. With Jesus, I face challenges that once would have overwhelmed me. Opportunities to develop my talents have flourished, leading me to preach to large crowds. I've overcome lifelong ailments and destructive traits, finding a new character and second chance in Jesus.

Sharons Story how Jesus changed her life

Childhood

I grew up in a Catholic home, attending Sunday school and learning the stories of Scripture. Even with all the rituals, I still felt a deep emptiness in my life. As our family’s religious practices faded during my high school years, the idols and statues in our home only made God feel more distant.

A seed planted

In my mid-twenties, a friend challenged my beliefs and told me plainly that Jesus is the only way to God. He warned me about idol worship, but spoke truth with love. Before leaving, he shared a simple prayer of salvation with me—a prayer that would later change my life.

Encountering God

Two months later, alone in my room, I encountered God in a powerful way. His presence overwhelmed me. I knew I needed to surrender my life to Jesus. As I wept, His love filled every empty place inside me that I was missing. When my family questioned my decision, I told them I simply wanted a real relationship with the living God—not rituals, not idols, but Christ alone.

A Life Transformed

My friend helped me find a church, and instantly things began to change. The nightlife, clubs, and smoking lost all their appeal because my heart was set on living for Jesus. About a year later, the pastor’s wife confirmed a calling over my life and encouraged me to step into full-time Bible study. I spent a year immersed in prayer and Scripture, and God used that season to completely transform me. Jesus renewed my mind, healed my heart, and filled me with His joy and peace. I had been battling depression, but the Lord healed me and restored me with His peace and joy.

Serving God

As I stepped deeper into ministry, I helped plant churches, I also had the privilege of serving on mission trips to Africa with my husband reached people battling addiction, and supported those facing hardship. I’ve prayed for many struggling with depression and watched God set them free, filling their minds and hearts with His peace. I witnessed lives changed, chains broken, and people restored through the power of Jesus. Ministry came with challenges, but God remained faithful in every season. Even in times of testing, God  provided, taught, and strengthened me.

Walking in Freedom

Looking back, I can see God’s hand in every chapter through the hardships and the victories —shaping me, guiding me, and pouring out His love. My journey has been filled with miracles, healing, breakthroughs, and spiritual growth.

Today, I walk in the freedom, joy, peace, and love that only Christ can give. I’m grateful for His goodness, and I’m committed to living a life that honours Him and points others to the hope found in Jesus.
