At Freedom Church Cairns, we genuinely believe that God’s people deserve leaders who reflect Christ in both word and action. We know no church is perfect — including ours — but we are committed to pursuing God’s best with sincerity, humility, and transparency. Scripture calls believers to be discerning, especially when it comes to spiritual leadership. The Bible warns about false prophets, distorted gospels, and leaders who misuse their influence, and we take those warnings seriously because we care deeply for the people God has entrusted to us.

 

Our heart is simple: Jesus must remain the centre.

 

A church without the power of the Holy Spirit, without genuine repentance, and without the life-changing message of the cross is not the church Christ intended.

 

We believe the gospel should be preached with clarity, courage, and compassion — not twisted for personal gain or diluted to keep people comfortable. 

 

We’re not here to entertain or manipulate; we’re here to preach Christ crucified and to see lives transformed by His power.

 

Because of that, we do not tolerate leadership that exploits people financially, lives in unrepentant immorality, or steals the glory that belongs only to God. Pastors and leaders are called to serve, not to be served. They must model humility, purity, generosity, and accountability. When leaders drift into pride, deception, or selfish ambition, the entire church suffers. 

 

We refuse to allow that. At Freedom Church Cairns, we expect our leaders — including our pastors — to live with integrity, to walk closely with God, to repent quickly, and to lead by example in holiness and love.

 

At the same time, we remain warm, welcoming, and full of grace toward every person who walks through our doors. We don’t shame people, and we don’t look down on anyone’s past or present battles. But we will always point people toward the truth of Scripture, the call to holiness, and the freedom that comes only through Jesus. But we do hold leaders and Pastors to much higher standard than regular church members.
