Mental Health
Mental Health and Wellbeing
At Freedom Church Cairns, we believe that mental health is just as important as physical and spiritual health. Life can bring challenges—stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and other struggles—that weigh heavily on our minds and hearts. These challenges are not a sign of weakness; they are part of the human experience, and no one should face them alone.
We are committed to creating a safe, compassionate, and supportive community where every person can find encouragement, hope, and practical help. Our church offers resources, pastoral care, and prayer support for those dealing with mental health struggles, as well as for family members and friends walking alongside them.
Through faith in Jesus Christ, we believe in the power of hope, healing, and restoration. Scripture reminds us that God cares deeply about our inner lives and desires peace and wholeness for each of us. At Freedom Church Cairns, we combine spiritual guidance with practical strategies—such as counselling referrals, support groups, and workshops—to help individuals build resilience and maintain mental wellbeing.
We also work to remove the stigma surrounding mental illness. Mental health issues are not something to hide or feel ashamed of. By talking openly, supporting each other, and seeking professional help when needed, we can foster a community where everyone feels understood, valued, and loved.
If you are struggling, or if someone you care about is, we encourage you to reach out. Join us at our gatherings, contact us for prayer and pastoral support, or we can connect you with one of of the many Cairns counsellors in professional care. At Freedom Church Cairns, you are not alone—we are here to walk with you toward healing, hope, and freedom in every area of life.
