Bullying at School
Bullying
Bullying has become one of the most damaging issues young people face today. Whether it happens in the classroom, on the playground, on the bus, or through social media, school bullying leaves deep emotional, mental, and spiritual scars. At Freedom Church Cairns, we care about every child and teenager in our community, and we refuse to stay silent while so many students feel afraid, alone, or powerless.
Bullying takes many forms—verbal, physical, exclusion, intimidation, online harassment, and ongoing humiliation. It can crush confidence and identity, leading to anxiety, depression, anger, or withdrawal. No young person should ever feel worthless because of the cruelty of others. God created every child with purpose and value, and no bully gets to rewrite what God has spoken over them.
We stand with families who are dealing with school bullying. Our pastoral team provides prayer, guidance, encouragement, and support to help students rebuild their confidence and find their identity in Christ. We also walk alongside parents, offering wisdom and practical steps for navigating schools, conflict, and communication with teachers and administration. When needed, we help families connect with additional support services, counsellors, or youth mentors.
Young people need to know they are not alone, and they do not deserve to be mistreated. We remind them that their worth comes from God—not from classmates, social media, or the opinions of others. We also teach our youth how to respond with courage, wisdom, and faith, while empowering them to stand strong in who God created them to be.
